The gradual migration of Deltans and their families to the USA, Canada and the Middle East in the early '70s and '80s created the nucleus of the Delta Alumni Association – USA/Canada/Europe/Middle East we have today. These Deltans immigrated to seek better living, employment opportunities, and/or unity with their families. They eventually linked together in search of belongingness and in rekindling the friendship they have known since the Mapua school days. Although small in number, they found other APO-Delta alumni members from the Philippines within the Southern California area. Eventually, the organization flourished with growing membership in California, East Coast, Mid-West and Canada.
In the home base of Southern California, Deltans informally formed the APO-Delta California AA in the early '80s in recognition of the growing number of Mapua alumni who occasionally meet each other during parties and holiday celebrations. Later on, the group renamed the organization to Delta-USA AA to recognize other Deltans outside the state of California who also embraces the same Delta spirit of brotherhood and fellowship.
By the summer of 1991, the group of thirteen Deltans formally organized the DELTA AA USA. In 1995, under the stewardship of Bro. Dansoy De Juan from Canada, the link with the SoCal Deltans was established. Incidentally, in the same month, NorCal Deltans and SoCal Deltans were finally linked when Bro. Vicente “Enteng†Ellescas invited every Deltan from both areas to his 10th Wedding Anniversary celebration. In 1996 the association was formally renamed APO-DELTA AA USA-Canada.
